Peter Geyer

Businessman, mediator & creative force

LORIOT

For three decades in various functions side by side with LORIOT and his legal successors. All LORIOT books since the death of this wonderful man and humourist were initiated, conceived, structured, implemented and edited by Peter Geyer. His 24th and final LORIOT book, ‘Wum & Wendelin’, was published by Diogenes in the autumn of 2025. In the spring of 2025, Peter Geyer stepped down from artistic estate management, but continues to exclusively manage LORIOT's merchandising and advertising rights.

Peter Geyer had already been appointed by Loriot for these two areas in 1994 and has also been running www.loriot.de for this purpose since 1996. From the ‘Kosakenzipfel (Cossack Tip)’ at Kamps bakery to handkerchiefs with LORIOT drawings for Tempo and the wine bottles from the sketch ‘Vertreterbesuch (Representative Visit)’ for the German Red Cross under the patronage of Frank-Walter Steinmeier, he has always successfully played the part of consultant and mediator.

Kinski

Peter Geyer also managed the artistic estate of acting legend Klaus Kinski from 1998 to 2012. In 2001, he published ‘Fieber - Tagebuch eines Aussätzigen (Fever - Diary of a Leper)’, early poems by Kinski, which he was also to stage with both Ben Becker and Nikolai Kinski. His biography ‘Klaus Kinski’ was published by Suhrkamp in 2006.

Peter Geyer's Kinski documentary ‘Jesus Christus Erlöser/ Jesus Christ Saviour’ premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2008 and subsequently toured other film festivals around the world. His coffee table ‘Kinski - Vermächtnis (Kinski - Legacy)’ was a favourite of the arts pages in 2011.
